Support Us

We wouldn't be able to provide essential services to our most vulnerable

neighbours without your help. As a small charity, we rely on the support of individuals

and organisations to continue to run our dementia daycare, carer befriending

programmes and other community services.

How our work is funded

We receive annual grants from the City of Edinburgh Council and the Community Health Partnership toward our caring services, but these sources make up only 31% of our income and they are unlikely to increase. We are supported by a number of generous charitable trusts and local people and this makes up 34% of our income.  We also earn money (35% of our income) from the rental of rooms to local clubs and organisations (up from just 75 organisations in 2009/10 to 180 in 2012/13) and rents from another 9 smaller local charities that rent offices in the building. (Percentages based on 2012/13 accounts.)

North American Ambassador

The Eric Liddell Centre has an authorised North American Ambassador who supports our fundraising program in the United States and Canada.  Please contact him in the first instance if you are a US or Canadian based donor and would like further information on how to donate to the Centre.

How you can help

Fundraise for us

Are you training for a charity event? Would you like to raise money for a great cause and give yourself

a fitness target too? We are very grateful to the volunteer fundraisers who raise money on our behalf.

for more information. When possible, we are pleased to support these efforts through our social media;

so please let us know your plans so we can help you raise even more.

Charitable Trusts & Foundations

Do you represent a charitable trust or foundation, or know of someone who is a trustee of one, who may support us?  Some of the UK's biggest trusts and foundations have supported the ELC in the past.  We are currently seeking grants from trusts and foundations to help us maintain and grow our services.  Please call our Trusts Fundraiser on 0131 446 3318 for chat if you think you may be able to help.

We’re keen to hear from local and national companies about their social objectives and CSR agendas and talk to you about ways we can help you achieve them. Our fundraising team has over 20 years of experience from dealing with multi-nationals to small and medium-sized local companies, so we can find you many ways and ideas in which you and your colleagues can help a well-known local Edinburgh charity.

Remembering the Eric Liddell Centre in your Will or through the memory of a loved one are

special ways to support our work.

Leave us a Legacy

After providing for those you care for, please consider leaving just a small proportion of what’s

left over tosupport the work of the Eric Liddell Centre. Every gift, regardless of size, counts.

We appreciate that leaving a gift in a Will is a very personal decision and we promise to respect you and your choices.

Gifts in Memory

These days, many families decide to honour the life of a lost loved one by suggesting donations

in lieu of giving flowers. These gifts are a special gesture that help further a cause close
to the family or loved one.If you would like more information about organising Gifts in Memory

on behalf of a loved one, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Make a donation

We appreciate any level of donation that you are able to give: a gift of £15 helps pay for arts and craft supplies for our daycare clients  while a gift of £200 would pay to heat and light the centre for one day.  You may decide to give us a one-off gift or sign up to give on a monthly basis.  Either way, we are extremely grateful!

There are two ways to make your donation:

•Donate securely online link
•Pop in to pick up a form from the front desk
